Sweet Potato Fries

Is there anyone in the world who doesn't like fries? I didn't think so. The good news is, you can eat these completely guilt-free. In fact, we went through a phase where they were for dinner like 5x a week at the Chupinsky home... and we don't even have an extra pound to show for it! 

I've since slowed down on the sweet potato fries because:

  1. 5x a week for like a year... I needed a break. 
  2. I'm currently reading Eat Right For Your Type and apparently my blood type doesn't agree well with potatoes. 

Eat Right For Your Type was written by Dr. Peter J. D'Adamo and is extremely informative of culture, evolution and how our bodies (AKA our blood types) react with certain foods. This book contains an individualized list of foods and meals plans based on your blood type. It's just unfortunate when things like sweet potatoes are on your advised "avoid" list! ;) Overall, great read... and while I don't tend to follow it to a tee, I do enjoy incorporating his theories into daily meals. Oh, and you can even get it with a blood type testing kit... PRETTY COOL!

Anyways, back to the fries.. Gobble them up before your testing kit shows you to be Blood Type A and they are on your avoid list! But seriously, they are easy, delicious and a favorite for everyone. No one will turn down these healthy, flavorful sweet and spicy sweet potato fries! 

Prep Time: 5 Minutes

Cook Time: 25 Minutes

Servings: 2 


  1. In a mixing bowl using a silicone brush, mix up the sweet potatoes with the remaining ingredients. 
  2. Lay them out flat on a greased baking sheet.
  3. Cook for 20 minutes at 450 F.
  4. Finish with broiling for 3 minutes each side if you want them crunchier.


  • 2 Small Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 TBSP Olive Oil
  • 1 TSP Pepper
  • 1 TSP Paparika
  • 1 TSP Garlic Salt
  • 1 TSP Oregano
