How original, right? Right. But honestly, you can never go wrong with peanut butter. Or chocolate. Or banana. And when it's all in one.... HEAVEN ON EARTH!
And the secret ingredient missing from every other chocolate peanut butter banana smoothie you see floating around Pinterest... SPINACH! My entire purpose of smoothies is to make sure you and I both are getting an extra serving or two (I'd even take three) of vegetables and nutrients per day. If we're simply having some peanut butter and banana, we're having a mediocre fat and sugar with a side of potassium, at best. Add in a handful of spinach and this smoothie is a nutrient powerhouse!
Don't "forget" (eye roll) to add the spinach. The only way you get dessert for breakfast is if it's some natural shade of green. I promise, you can't even taste it!
Prep & Clean Time: 5-10 minutes
- Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
- Serve in glasses or pack in shaker and take on the go for a snack!
- Large Handful of Spinach
- 1 Banana
- 2 TBSP Peanut Butter
- 2 Servings Chocolate Protein Powder (I got to sample Arbonne (yes, I'm still detoxing!) which was super tasty!
- 1 to 1.5 cups of liquid (I just go with water but any milk is great!)
If you're busy, have 10 kids, a needy husband and are supposed to be out of the house by 8am... this is the breakfast for you. And I except no excuses... it takes 5 minutes! I make mine while I'm waiting on a cup of coffee. Because we all know EVERYONE has time to wait on a cup of coffee. Priorities :)
